Vladimir Sosa
Vladimir Sosa is the Head of Ibero-America at OEP, where he leads the organisation’s strategic engagement, project management, and government relations.
Vladimir is a public affairs and energy specialist with over 15 years of experience. He has held key leadership positions, including National Deputy Director of Business Development and Head of Energy Efficiency, Distributed Generation, and Electromobility Programs at Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE); and served as Deputy Secretary of Energy for the state of Nuevo León and as Chief of Advisors to Mexico’s Deputy Secretary of Energy. He has also been a Communications Advisor for both presidential and state-level political campaigns.
His international experience includes serving as Director of Electromobility for Latin America at the World Resources Institute (WRI), and consulting for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA), and Partners of the Americas (POA). In the private sector, he worked as Government Affairs Manager at BP Mexico and as Vice President of Decarbonization at Coparmex.
Vladimir holds a Masters in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University, and a Master of Public Administration (with highest honors) and a B.A. in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has been a Visiting Professor of Energy Law and Political Communication at UErre and UANL.
Vlad is an amateur musician and loves literature.

Vladimir Sosa es el Director de Iberoamérica en OEP, donde lidera la participación estratégica, la gestión de proyectos y las relaciones gubernamentales de la organización.
Vladimir es un especialista en Asuntos Públicos y Energía con más de 15 años de experiencia. Ha ocupado puestos clave, incluyendo Subdirector Nacional de Nuevos Negocios y Coordinador de Programas de Eficiencia Energética, Generación Distribuida y Electromovilidad en la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) de México. También se ha desempeñado como Subsecretario de Energía del estado de Nuevo León y como Jefe de Asesores del Subsecretario de Energía de México. Ha sido asesor en comunicación para campañas políticas a nivel presidencial y estatal.
En el ámbito internacional, ha sido Director de Electromovilidad para América Latina en el World Resources Institute (WRI), además de haber colaborado como consultor para el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), el Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) y Partners of the Americas (POA). En el sector privado, trabajó como Gerente de Asuntos Gubernamentales en BP México y como Vicepresidente de Descarbonización en Coparmex.
Vladimir es Maestro en Desarrollo Económico y Político por la Universidad de Columbia en Nueva York, y Maestro en Administración Pública (con máximos honores) y Licenciado en Relaciones Internacionales por el Tecnológico de Monterrey. Ha sido profesor visitante de Derecho Energético y de Comunicación Política en la UErre y en la UANL.
Vlad es músico amateur y un amante de la literatura.
