Daul Jang
Daul Jang is the Country Head for Ocean Energy Pathway in South Korea. Daul leads strategic planning, builds government relations, works closely with OEP’s key partner organizations and manages a number of in-country projects in South Korea.
Daul has worked as a project officer, senior researcher, senior campaigner, and senior policy aide in the field of environment and climate energy policy for a local government, a UN organization, a think tank, a global NGO and a congressman’s office in the parliament for the past 15 years. Prior to his current role, he worked as an advocacy specialist in a global non-profit environmental organization.
Daul writes regular columns on climate change and energy transition for the Korea Times. He holds a BA in Economics, MA in International Politics, and MSc in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management. His main interest is sustainable energy policy.
Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, cooking, camping, playing percussion, and performing stand-up comedy.

장다울은 오션에너지패스웨이(OEP)의 한국 대표를 맡고 있습니다. 그는 OEP의 한국 활동 전략 기획을 총괄하고, 정부, 국회, 지자체, 산업계, 시민사회 등 OEP의 파트너 기관들과 긴밀히 협력하는 한편, 한국 내 OEP 프로젝트 관리를 총괄하고 있습니다.
그는 한국의 대학에서는 경제학 학사를, 대학원에서는 국제정치학 석사를 취득했습니다. 유럽에서는 스웨덴, 영국, 그리스, 헝가리의 4개 대학이 공동으로 운영한 석사 과정을 통해 환경과학· 관리·경영을 전공했습니다. 그의 주 관심사는 지속 가능한 에너지 정책이었습니다.
공부를 마치고 그는 지난 15년간 환경 및 기후·에너지 정책 분야의 전문가로 활동해오고 있습니다. 지방정부에서의 재생에너지 프로젝트 담당관을 시작으로, 유엔기구의 환경 연구원, 국제개발협력 싱크탱크의 선임연구원, 글로벌 환경단체의 선임 캠페이너 및 전문위원, 국회의원실의 선임비서관 등 다양한 역할을 맡아 왔습니다. 그 과정에서 서울시의 녹색서울시민위원회, 환경부의 중앙환경정책위원회, 산업통상자원부의 신재생시장위원회에서 위원으로 활동하며 자문을 하기도 했습니다.
또한, 그는 코리아타임스에 기후변화 및 에너지 전환 관련 정기적인 칼럼을 기고하고 있습니다. 업무 외에는 여행, 요리, 캠핑, 타악기 연주, 스탠드업 코미디를 즐겨 합니다.
