Ocean Energy Pathway is delighted to announce that Karen Sack has joined as its first Board Chair. Karen is currently the Executive Director of the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA).
Karen has worked on ocean conservation, law and policy for the past three decades and previously served as President and CEO of Ocean Unite. She brings with her a wealth of experience in ocean-driven environmental issues including spearheading global campaigns to secure a new high seas biodiversity treaty, reforming the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy, and driving political and policy action to protect marine species.
“We’re delighted to welcome Karen to OEP’s board at such a critical time for the offshore wind sector. Her passion and expertise are a great match for the team, and will help ensure we continue to deliver for the ocean and coastal communities as we unlock the accelerated deployment of this vital new infrastructure.” said Charles Ogilvie, Executive Director, Ocean Energy Pathway.

“I am excited to be stepping into this role at an important time in OEP’s growth. I look forward to working with the board to provide governance and strategic direction to support the leadership team to deliver OEP’s mission.” said Karen Sack, Board Chair, Ocean Energy Pathway
Karen takes on the role of OEP’s first Board Chair at a time when the organisation is expanding its technical assistance to encompass offshore wind, marine protection and biodiversity, and community engagement. OEP operates across Australia, Brazil, Colombia, India, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam with ongoing projects in several other countries.
